A prize is also awarded in each division to the player who has most improved her handicap index during the season. A player must compete in at least five Tuesday Tournaments and/or Mixed Tournaments to be eligible.

The most improved golfer in Division A for 2012 is Shannon McManus from Nashua Country Club. Shannon started the year with a 14.5 index and as of the September 15, 2012 revision date she improved to an index of 5.9 . Shannon's improvement factor is 1.480.
Likewise, the most improved golfer in Division B is Brenna Benson from Den Brae Golf Course. She started the year at a 29.7 and improved to 22.6. Jane's improvement factor is 1.205.
Of the two women, Shannon's index improved the most and she is the Helen Lockwood Trophy recipient for 2012.
